POOL TYPES
R.C.C /GUNITE POOLS
RCC (Concrete) swimming pools have some advantages over other types of pools. It’s not that other pools aren’t a better choice in some situations. However, Gunite/ Concrete pools do offer a few exclusive features such as, pool shapes can be easily customized. This means that you do not have to limit your choices to the standard shapes.
If you are working with a designer, he/she has free reign to be as creative as possible. We can also coordinate with your nominated RCC contractor, provide shop drawings and execute all related MEP works. We can achieve various types of pools and shapes as mentioned below.
FREE BOARD/ SKIMMER POOL
The freeboard swimming pool also widely known as the skimmer pool is the most frequently built swimming pools. This particular design enables a more cost effective option than over flow or infinity designed pools. Generally the upper perimeter is finished with an edging tile or coping stone, the water level is usually regulated around six inches below the pool surround, the distance between the operating water level and its surrounding deck area is referred to as the “freeboard” and it is here that its name derives.
The term skimmer is merely an active devise that draws off surface debris and body oils. The freeboard swimming pool is suitable for indoor and outdoor use, and can be designed around modern and traditional surroundings.
OVER FLOW POOL
Over flow swimming pools are designed around the primary function of surface water removal and are regarded as the best circulation system. Such deigns regulate water level with the pool surround, the water spills over grating and into a transfer channel, the water then runs through a series of pipework and into a balance tank. It is here that the water is removed by the pumps and returned to the pool as physically and chemically treated water.
An over flow swimming pool is usually more expensive to construct than say a conventional skimmer pool as the build requirements are slightly more demanding.
The overflow channel associated with deck level pools can be covered in many ways, as you can see from the pictures above a highly polished stainless steel grate works well for a more modern look or U PVC grating for a more affordable traditional setting. We can also provide an over flow edge which is more practical and seamless which offers a very discreet minimalistic look that makes the transaction from the pool surround look very dramatic.
KNIFE EDGE POOL
This type of pool walls are sloped away from the water’s edge at a sharp angle (hence the knife-edge), which allows the pool to have no true visible coping. The water overflows the pool wall into a small gap of about 20-30 mm between the decking surface and pool’s edge.
The overflowing water is channeled through a perimeter trough or gutter to a holding tank or reservoir, which in turn is recirculated to the pool. The water level achieved is almost flush with the deck surface, giving the pool a unique appearance and highly reflective surface.
This glass-like stillness is achieved since most disturbances within the water are transferred over the pool’s edge as it overflows.
INFINITY POOL
Infinity pools are often the most expensive to construct and require extensive structural and mechanical detailing. Engineering is paramount. The high costs of these pools is often found in the foundation systems that anchor them into the hillsides, however infinity pools can be installed in sloping gardens and do not require the same extensive costs and detailing.
In reality the edge of the swimming pool terminates at a distance that is around 10 cm lower than the required water level. A trough or catch basin is constructed below the vanishing point to collect the displacement of water.
Some of the world’s most luxurious swimming pools are design around the effect of water extending over vast landscapes and into the horizon.
Infinity pools are the most aesthetically pleasing ‘outdoor’ swimming pool available.
GLASS EDGE POOL
Over the past 10 years glass edge pools have become a popular alternative to overflow pool. They are usually expensive to build, than an overflow pool, as it really depends on the size, thickness and amount of glass required.
The idea of a glass edge pool is to achieve an overflow pool look without the need for a trough nor the associated water evaporation challenges. Glass top pools also offer a nice feature when looking from the other side, back towards the pool, through the glass into the water. They also look very impressive at night when the lights are on.
New Mirage pools take full responsibility for the complete process, giving you the peace of mind of a quality product, installed and ready-to-use pools with 10 years Warranty of the pool and 1-3 years Warranty of the equipment. All our equipment are from well recognized brands such as
